Amazon has refused to work with Jeremy Clarkson over comments about Meghan Markle.
Amazon Prime Video will not renew its contract with celebrity presenter Jeremy Clarkson after his comments about actress and British Prince Harry's wife Meghan Markle were published in tabloid The Sun.
It is claimed that the streaming service will not work with Jeremy Clarkson after the release of regular seasons of Grand Tour and Clarkson's Farm, which have already been launched. This means that the iconic Top Gear presenter is unlikely to appear in any new shows on Prime Video after 2024.
Although the streaming service made no public statement when Jeremy Clarkson's scathing article hit international headlines in December, it is clear that the company was unhappy with the publication. In a new series of public apologies from Jeremy Clarkson on Monday, he said Amazon was "disappointed" in his tirade against Markle and Prince Harry.
I'm really sorry. From the tips of my toes to the craziness in my head. I throw my hands up in the air. This is soya mea culpa with bells on," he wrote.
Recall that in his article Jeremy Clarkson suggested that Meghan Markle would be "walking around naked" in Britain while people "throw lumps of excrement at her".
'Normally I read what I've written to someone else before I publish, but I was home alone that day and in a big hurry,' admitted Jeremy Clarkson. - So when I was done, I just hit send. And then, when the article came out the next day, a foghorn exploded. "What did Jeremy Clarkson write about Meghan Markle?
In Jeremy Clarkson's December 16, 2022 column, the former Top Gear presenter wrote the following about Meghan Markle: "I hate her. Not like I hate Scottish National Party leader Nicola Sturgeon or British serial killer Rose West. I hate her on a cellular level." He continued, referring to the infamous scene from Game of Thrones involving Cersei: "I can't sleep at night, lying there gnashing my teeth and dreaming of the day when she will be made to parade naked through the streets of every city in Britain while crowds chant, 'Shame!' and throw lumps of excrement at her."
