"Aquaman" star Amber Heard sued her insurers

"Aquaman" star Amber Heard believes her million-dollar insurance policy should cover all of her expenses during her lawsuit against ex-spouse Johnny Depp and the verdict. She filed a lawsuit with the court seeking confirmation of this.
The actress named the insurance company as the defendant. New York Marine & General Insurance Co. after they asked a judge to allow them not to pay the insurance she took out to protect herself from defamation claims.
Their argument is based on the fact that the jury found that Amber Heard committed willful misconduct by spreading libel against Johnny Depp and, under California law, this entitles them to not be financially liable.
For her part, Amber Heard claims just the opposite, namely, that New York Marine has promised to pay her defense costs and all judgments against her of up to a million dollars, no matter what. This is an unconditional deal she claims they made with her, and the actress is confident that the insurers have not kept their end of the bargain.
As a reminder, Johnny Depp intends to challenge the court-ordered payment of two million dollars.

At the end of the trial, Johnny Depp, 59, was awarded between $10 million and $15 million in damages and five million dollars in punitive damages. The judge later capped the damages at the state's maximum, leaving Depp with a total of $8.35 million. Meanwhile, Amber Heard won one of her three counterclaims related to allegations by Depp's lawyer that the actress and her friends trashed the apartment before calling the police. The actress was awarded two million dollars in compensation.
