Arnold Schwarzenegger to lead action movie directed by Unstoppable 4
Actor returns to action genre in Scott Waugh film
Arnold Schwarzenegger has been confirmed for the lead role in "Unstoppable 4" director Scott Waugh's action film "Breakout", which Anton Studios will present to potential buyers at the upcoming Cannes Film Market.
In the film, Arnold Schwarzenegger will play a character named Terry Reynolds. After Terry's stepson is framed and sentenced to 25 years in a foreign country, his task is to rescue him from prison. Terry will have to deal with prison guards and play a race against time if he is to help his stepson escape from the country.
"Breakout" will mark Arnold Schwarzenegger's return to action movies since the 2019 release of "Terminator: Dark Fates" and ahead of the May 2023 debut of Netflix series "Fubar".
Scott Waugh, who is best known for directing Law of Valour and Need for Speed: Thirst for Speed, has been appointed to direct the film, his next project after the fourth installment of the Unstoppable franchise, which is expected to be released later this year. Richard D'Ovidio ("Anxious Calling") prepared the script, based on the story he co-wrote with Nicole D'Ovidio.
