Brad Pitt's Daughter Seeks to Drop Father's Surname Amidst Family Legal Struggles
Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, the daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has initiated legal proceedings to change her surname, distancing herself from her father. At 18 years old, Shiloh has decided to legally be recognized as Shiloh Jolie, hiring her own attorney for the process. According to a source close to the former couple, Shiloh has personally funded this legal move, citing "harsh treatment" from her father as a contributing factor to her decision.
The trend of dropping the "Pitt" surname appears to be recurring among the siblings. Vivienne, another daughter of Jolie and Pitt, is now referred to as "Vivienne Jolie" in promotional materials for the Broadway show "The Outsiders," produced by Angelina Jolie herself. Meanwhile, Zahara has adopted "Zahara Marley Jolie" as her preferred moniker. In November, she joined the "Alpha Kappa" women's society at Spelman College under this new name. It's noteworthy that, apart from Shiloh, Jolie and Pitt have five other children.
This familial shift comes against the backdrop of a tumultuous divorce between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt initiated in 2016, where Jolie sought sole physical custody of their children. The ex-spouses have also been embroiled in legal disputes over their jointly owned winery, Chateau Miraval. During these proceedings, Jolie has repeatedly accused Pitt of abusive behavior towards her and their children prior to an airplane incident that precipitated their separation. These claims have been described by Pitt's legal team as "misleading" and "distractive."
The legal and familial dynamics surrounding the Jolie-Pitt children continue to unfold, drawing significant media attention and public speculation about the future relations within this high-profile family.
