Daredevil and Kingpin to appear on Echo
Vincent D'Onofrio returns to the role of supervillain Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, whom he played in the Daredevil and Falcon Eye series, in the Disney+/Marvel spin-off Streaming Echo. He will be accompanied by Charlie Cox, who will once again don the Daredevil superhero costume.
Kingpin, king of the New York underworld, is the guardian of the deaf superheroine Echo, known as Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox), implicated in the death of her father. In the finale of Falcon Eye, Echo goes after the mobster she thought was her family. Surviving a car collision and an explosion of arrows hitting him, Kingpin is in the crosshairs of Maya's gun. A gunshot is heard behind the scenes, but Kingpin appears to have survived. In the upcoming series, "Echo," Maya returns to New York as a gang leader and reunites with her Native American kin.
After the release of "Falcon Eye," D'Onofrio expressed hope that his character is "not dead," "I'm with the fans, I want to keep playing this role. I hope we will continue."
The last time audiences saw Matt Murdock/Sorvigilove (Cox) was in "Spider-Man 3: No Way Home," when he was giving advice to Peter Parker (Tom Holland). In May of this year, it was revealed that Disney+ was working on a new series about the popular superhero.
