Disney CEO promises a completely new Avengers lineup
Disney CEO Bob Iger has announced that an all-new Avengers cast will soon emerge. He shared his vision at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecommunications Conference.
Bob Iger, in particular, confirmed that the Avengers will be a priority in advancing the Marvel movie universe. "Marvel as a whole has about 7,000 characters, there are many more stories to tell. In terms of the Marvel brand, there's nothing in it that's not canon. I think we just have to look at which characters or stories to bring to the forefront. And if you look at the trajectory over the next five years, you'll see a lot of new things. We're going to go back to the Avengers franchise, but with a different set of superheroes," he commented.
Note that the movie "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantomania" kicked off a new phase in the development of the film universe. Clearly, the time-traveling villain Kang is far from done with the already familiar characters, and he doesn't necessarily have to appear in every subsequent film adaptation on his way to the new Avengers.
Not every movie in the Infinity Saga was about the Infinity Stones or Thanos, in this case it will be the same. But we're getting ready," Marvel Studios head Kevin Feigy previously said.
Which heroes were part of the Avengers team?
The Infinity Saga, which Marvel has been developing for a decade, featured such characters as Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow, Spider-Man, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy.
