Fear the Walking Dead season eight will see a time jump.
The trailer for the final season of the zombie series has been unveiled
The final eighth season of the zombie drama Fear the Walking Dead will see a seven-year time jump. It was revealed by AMC showrunner Ian B. Goldberg, who took part in the show's panel at the WonderCon event in California. He was joined by executive producer Michael E. Satrazemis and actors Kim Dickens, Jenna Elfman and Kristin Evangelista to introduce the popular series. The panel also screened the trailer for the final season.
Ian B. Goldberg, reflecting on the end of the series, could not hide his sadness and addressed his gratitude to the loyal fans: "It seems surreal; it's rather strange to be filming the eighth season of this show and realise that at this point everyone knows that this will be our last season. Thank you so much, you're the best fans in the world, we made this show for you and we're honoured that we've been able to tell these stories for such a long time."
"We're going to finally show what's going on in PADRE. We really wanted to find out what life looks like inside this place we've heard so much about. We're going to do it in a conceptual way, going seven years into the future. So when we meet our characters, a lot of time has passed and we see how they've coped with their new realities. It's a whole new ball game. It doesn't make them feel any better," the showrunner teased fans of the series.
The final eighth season of the series will consist of two parts of six episodes each, the first of which will start on May 14, 2023 on AMC and AMC+. The second part will be released later this year.
