"Godzilla vs Kong" sequel filming location revealed
A filming location has been revealed for the yet-to-be-named sequel to the 2021 blockbuster "Godzilla vs. According to Screen Queensland, the sequel to the monster story will be filmed in Queensland, Australia. The Prime Minister's statement said cameras will be set this year in the Gold Coast and southeast of the city for the fifth picture by Legendary Studios in the Monsterverse franchise.
Details of the sequel's plot details are being kept secret, although the director of the original film, Adam Wingard, said last year that he "would very much like to continue" the franchise. He added: "Because of the clear starting point we created in 'Godzilla vs. Kong,' exploring Hollow Earth, we have room for action. This is the backstory of the planet Earth, where all the titans come from. In this movie, we're uncovering a kind of mystery, things I'd like to explore and take it to the next level."
Screen Queensland estimates that production of the film will generate A$79.2 million in economic growth in the region and create 505 jobs for local actors, crew and employ 750 extras.
Godzilla vs. Kong, also filmed in Queensland, grossed more than $468 million at the worldwide box office.
