The movie "Prey" is not a direct prequel to the famous sci-fi action film "Predator." As director Dan Traktenberg clarified, his version is also not the origin story of the character.
I want to emphasize this because I think there has been some confusion. In my opinion, it's not a prequel to the original film, it's not a sort of "Let's tell the origin of the Predator." It's just what happened before the events of the first Predator. By the way, the Predator in this movie first came to Earth," he commented.
According to the director, he aimed to make the hunter "scarier than he had been seen before." "He's smart and equipped with advanced technology, and that makes him even more dangerous. But because the movie takes place 300 years ago, his equipment also looks a little older than we're used to, but at the same time it's much more advanced than what we think earthlings could handle," Trakenberg added.
