The appearance of popular Hollywood actor Johnny Depp at the MTV Video Music Awards was considered silly and inappropriate.
Fans mocked on social media the "big comeback" actor, whose career has been hit hard by his tumultuous divorce from his ex, Amber Heard. Depp appeared several times at the beginning of the show, including a moment when he joked about taking any job. His face was simply superimposed over the Moon Man costume floating above the stage, which is a recognizable symbol of MTV.
