Todd Phillips, the director and co-screenwriter of "Joker 2: Madness for Two" decided to give his fans a special gift for Valentine's Day. He published a photo from the set showing Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Flack and Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn.
This is the first official shot to feature the famous singer as the Joker's girlfriend. Previously, the performer of the role in other DC comic book adaptations, Margot Robbie said she was happy to pass it on to Lady Gaga. "I said from the beginning that all I wanted was for Harley Quinn to be one of those characters that, like Macbeth or Batman, are passed on from one great actor to another," she said.
What is Joker 2: Madness for Two about?
The sequel will be a musical about the tangled romance between Arthur Fleck and Harley Quinn, with most of the film reportedly unfolding in the clinic where the main character is placed. The film will also star Zazie Beetz.
I love musicals and I think of them as characters who feel and experience so much that they can only sing and dance to express it. Whether it's grief or joy. And I can really see it within myself as well, because singing and dancing is a real catharsis for me. At one point in my life, I was going through a really difficult time, and I just started dancing and crying by myself. And then I see Arthur feeling and experiencing so much, dancing and singing about it. It makes sense to me," commented Zazie Beetz. When will Joker 2: Madness for Two be released?
The sequel is scheduled for release on October 4, 2024, which means viewers will have to be patient.
