Squid Game star Lee Jong-jae has shared details regarding the second season of the acclaimed Netflix streaming survival show. In particular, it has been revealed that there is very little time left before filming begins. "Filming for the second season of The Squid Game will begin in the summer and will likely last about ten months. We worked on the first season for about ten months too, but that was with delays caused by COVID-19. However, given that the second season will be bigger, it will probably take longer to work on," the actor shared.
He further stressed that his character Song Ki Hoon has a lot to do in the second season, as the first season ended with a promising drama, and Lee Jong-jae's character is desperate for revenge. Thus, the star of the show expects that he will finally share screen time with fellow actor Lee Ben-Hong, who plays the game's leading man, Hwang In-Ho.
As we all realised from the end of the first season, the main plot of the second season will be revenge, and the key figure who controlled the games in the first season was Lee Ben Hong's character, so it looks like the two of us will be the central figures of this story. In fact, this is the first time I'll be working with Lee Ben-Hong. Well, at one time we worked on a dorama called 'White Nights 3.98', but we didn't have any scenes together," the actor shared.
'Squid Game' ('Ojingeo geim'). The release date is 17.09.2021.
In the drama series, a group of characters participate at will in a survival game show in an attempt to win a big cash prize. The series and its participants have received high critical acclaim and nominations for prestigious professional awards.
