Daedalic Entertainment announces video game release date
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum videogame release date of May 25, 2023 has been announced. The game is based on J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings fantasy book series, inspiring the developer, Daedalic Entertainment, to recreate the unique and elaborate world described in the literary source material.
Of the many characters in J.R.R. Tolkien's universe, Daedalic Entertainment decided to focus on one that many felt would not be appropriate for the game: Gollum. The upcoming game, set in the action-adventure and stealth genres, is unlikely to give players the opportunity to swing a sword - rather, it will train them in the stealth and cunning for which Gollum is so famous.
"The Lord of the Rings: Gollum" has been in development for some time and has had a few delays, but now its new release date ensures that it can be tested on Xbox, PlayStation and PC very soon. A Nintendo Switch version will also be available a little later this year. As a reminder, Daedalic Entertainment announced the game was set to launch in March 2019, with the prospect of a 2021 release date.
