Marvel Cinematic Universe gets 19 Emmy nominations
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has emerged as one of the leaders in the number of nominations for the prestigious American Academy of Television's Emmy Awards. As announced July 12, 2022, it can claim a total of 19 awards.
The "Moon Knight" series earned the most mentions (eight nominations), followed by "Loki" with six, the first animated series "What If?" - with three and "Falcon Eye" with two.
In addition, the late Chadwick Boseman received a posthumous nomination in the Outstanding Voiceover category for his role as T'Challa. Recall that the lead actor in the comic book adaptation of Black Panther, who passed away at the age of 43, had previously received a posthumous Oscar nomination in the Best Actor category.
The absolute leader among all Emmy contenders was a drama series called "The Heirs," which received a total of 25 nominations. It tells about the difficult relationship in the family of a media mogul. By a narrow margin, the HBO television project was followed by the comedy show "Ted Lasso" and the mini-series "White Lotus." Both will be able to compete for 20 TV Academy Awards.
The Emmy Award winners will be named at a ceremony to be held in September.
