MGM has begun work on a spin-off of the "Creed" dilogy, called "Drago". The script is being prepared by Robert Lawton. The studio refrained from commenting.
Details regarding the plot of the film have not been disclosed. According to insiders, the Russian boxer Drago will be in the center of attention. Dolph Lundgren played Ivan Drago in the 1985 film "Rocky 4" sequel and "Creed 2," released in 2018. The role of Ivan's son, Victor Drago, in "Creed 2" was played by Florian Munteanu.
Recall that in "Rocky 4," Ivan Drago delivers the fatal blow to Rocky's close friend Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) in a boxing match. Heartbroken, Rocky vows revenge and challenges Drago. In the final round, Rocky knocks Drago out.
Lawton wrote the screenplay for the documentary Becoming Rocky, which explored the creation of the Sylvester Stallone-led franchise.
