Netflix to produce a prequel and sequel to the thriller "The Gray Man"
Streaming Netflix has ordered production on a prequel and sequel to a yet-to-be-released thriller called "The Gray Man," which was directed by brothers Anthony Russo and Joe Russo. It is claimed that Lloyd Hansen, played by Chris Evans, will get a prequel, and a more traditional sequel centered on Ryan Gosling's character is on the way.
Plans are still in the early stages, we only know that the script will be prepared by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who previously worked on the Marvel Comics adaptation of "Deadpool."
The Russo brothers previously described their project as "a duel between two fine actors who represent two different versions of the CIA in what it can be and what it can do." "For fans of The First Avenger 2: The Other War, the analogy will be clear. We are once again operating in this territory just in a more realistic environment. That's what this movie really means to us," Anthony Russo said in an interview.
The idea is to create a franchise and a whole universe with Ryan at the center. We all committed to the first film, and it has to really build up to lead us to the second film. Gosling's character is hiding from the CIA, and Evans' character has to track him down. We think Netflix is the perfect place for this movie," Joe Russo added.
Gray Man will launch on Netflix on July 22, 2022.
