"Obi-Wan Kenobi" premiere postponed
Disney+ has rescheduled the premiere date of the upcoming "Star Wars" series "Obi-Wan Kenobi." Originally scheduled for May 25, 2022, the show will debut two days later, on Friday, May 27, the last weekend before Memorial Day traditionally celebrated in the United States. Two episodes will be presented to subscribers on the day of the premiere. The lead actor, Ewan McGregor, announced the news on social media by recording a video message.
The mini-series, in which McGregor will return in the role that made him famous, will also feature Hayden Christensen, Indira Varma, O'Shea Jackson Jr, Moses Ingram, Sang Kang, Simone Cassel, Kumeil Nanjiani, Bonnie Pesse, Ben Safdie, Rupert Friend and Joel Edgerton.
The plot of the series unfolds 10 years after the dramatic events of "Star Wars: Episode 3 - Revenge of the Sith," as Kenobi faces his greatest defeat - the fall and betrayal of his best friend and Padawan Anakin Skywalker, who has become the sinister Sith Lord Darth Vader. The series is directed by Deborah Chou, who directed two episodes of the first season of "Mandalorean."
It is noteworthy that the first part of the fourth season of the popular series "Very Stranger Things" will premiere on Netflix on May 27.
