Orlando Bloom and Andy McDowell will star in the "Santa Hunt" directors' thriller
Orlando Bloom ("Carnival Row") and Andy McDowell ("The Cleaner: A Single Mother's Story") have landed starring roles in the upcoming thriller from comedy action film directors Ashom Nelms and Ian Nelms' "Santa Hunt."
The film centers on Cash (Bloom), who tries to live an honest and quiet life in the foothills of Appalachia while taking care of his niece Savannah. When the town's terror-holding Big Cat (McDowell) forces him back to his former life of crime, Cash realizes he is capable of anything--even murder--to protect the town and the only family he has left. As the situation heats up, Cash finds himself embroiled in a nightmare that blurs the lines between good and evil.
Asbury Park Pictures and Traction Studios will finance and produce the project, which begins next month in Kentucky. Mike Gabrawi, Basil Ivanyk and Erica Lee will share production duties.
Bloom recently starred in the war drama "The Outpost" and the melodrama "Needle in the Time Stack," and the actor has a second season of the fantasy "Carnival Row" ahead. Last year, McDowell starred in the mini-series "The Janitor. The Story of a Single Mother" with her daughter Margaret Quellie.
