Paul Verhoeven criticized the "Bondiana" and Marvel movies for the lack of sex
The producers of "Bondiana" have not yet decided on the actor who will replace Daniel Craig as the new 007 agent after the "No Time to Die" anniversary episode, but Paul Verhoeven is probably more interested in whether sex will return to the legendary spy franchise. Verhoeven, who has made famous erotic scenes in such films as Basic Instinct and Showgirls, has expressed frustration that many of today's studio projects are completely sexless.
We are shown disasters and explosions. Sometimes these movies are funny, but the narrative tells us nothing about ourselves. I don't see any other thought in Marvel or Bond films," the director lamented.
If Verhoeven were in charge of the next James Bond film, he "would go back to reality with cars that don't take off into the sky." As a fan of Craig's debut film in the series, "Casino Royale," Verhoeven is disappointed with the latest, "No Time to Die," because of the lack of sex scenes. "There was always sex in Bond! - argues Verhoeven. - They didn't show breasts or anything like that. But they always had some sex."
"Casino Royale" showed intimate moments between Craig's Bond and Eva Green's character Vesper Lind, but "No Time to Die" showed no romantic scenes involving Bond and other characters, including Madeleine Swann's Lea Seydoux.
