Producers Guild of America Award Winners Announced

The winners of the Producers Guild Award have been announced in the United States. The top award in the category "intended for release feature film" went to "CODA: Child of Deaf Parents. In the feature-length animated film category, "Encanto" won.
The best drama series production team was the creators of "The Heirs," and in a similar category for comedies the award went to "Ted Lasso." Among mini-series, "Mair of Easttown" was announced as the leader. "The Beatles: Get Back - The Rooftop Concert" won the Best Non-Fiction Film for Television category.
PGA Lifetime Achievement Award (for contributions to filmmaking), presented to Lucasfilm studio founder George Lucas and current leader Kathleen Kennedy. The duo was introduced by longtime Lucas collaborator Steven Spielberg. "I want you to fully appreciate the impact it has had on your life and the lives of your children and grandchildren. And yes, George, we are now at the age when great-grandchildren are watching Star Wars for the first time," Spielberg told the audience. For his part, Kennedy, whose work has earned a staggering 120 Oscar nominations, called Lucas "friend, mentor and the greatest Jedi master of all."
