"Riverdale" will end with a seventh season.
The popular series "Riverdale," aimed at young audiences, will end with a seventh season. This decision was made by The CW's management, as announced during the announcement of the fall schedule for 2022. The drama's final season will premiere in the offseason in 2023, the exact date to be announced later.
As a reminder, the show was renewed for a seventh season back in March 2022 among many other popular The CW series such as "The Flash," "All American," "Kung Fu," "Nancy Drew," "Superman & Lois" and "Walker." "Riverdale" is currently the channel's longest-running show to close - The CW recently decided not to renew "Legends of Tomorrow," "Dynasty" and "Legacy" after seven, five and four seasons, respectively.
"Riverdale" proved to be a real hit on The CW after its debut. The show's premiere ratings were pretty solid by network standards, and once it became available to watch on Netflix, its popularity skyrocketed. As of this writing, more than 100 episodes of the series based on the Archie Andrews comics, played by KJ Apa, have been released.
