During an event focused on the upcoming presidential elections, legendary Hollywood actor Robert De Niro unleashed a stark condemnation of White House contender Donald Trump, labeling him a "clown" and voicing concerns that Trump could potentially devastate not just the United States, but the entire world.

"I didn't want to scare you. No, wait, maybe I actually did want to scare you," said the 80-year-old actor to journalists outside the courthouse where Donald Trump's case was being heard. "If he returns to the White House, you can say goodbye to the freedoms we all take for granted. I love this city. I don’t want to see it destroyed. Donald Trump wants to destroy not just the city, but the country, and ultimately, he could destroy the entire world."

De Niro is adamant that the former U.S. president has no place in his city. "We, the people of New York, have grown accustomed to tolerating him when he was just another sloppy real estate dealer pretending to be a big shot, a worthless playboy who lies to get into the tabloids, pretending to represent himself. He called it 'on his own behalf' to deceive the press and inflate his status. A clown, but this city is quite hospitable. We make room for clowns," added the actor.

The 2024 U.S. presidential election is drawing near, with voting set to take place on November 5. The main contenders are believed to be the incumbent President Joe Biden and Donald Trump himself. Hollywood largely supports the former.
