Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man will not appear in new Marvel films

Robert Downey Jr. will not be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Following the announcement of Avengers 6: Secret Wars, most fans were hopeful that some of the franchise's first stars would return for the final battle. However, comments from Marvel Studios producer Stephen Broussard leave little hope for that.
I think one of the main elements of Phase 4 is the introduction of new characters. It was about the new characters taking up the baton. Will other popular characters return in Avengers 6: Secret Wars?
