Samuel L. Jackson will voice a cat in the Garfield cartoon

Samuel L. Jackson will join Chris Pratt in Alcon Entertainment's feature-length animated film "Garfield," based on the iconic comic book of the same name. The famous actor's voice in the cartoon will be spoken by a new character - Garfield's father, Vic.
In the upcoming film, scripted by David Reynolds, Pratt voices the adoring lasagna and hating Mondays Garfield the cat. Mark Dindal has been assigned to direct. Sony Pictures owns the distribution rights -- with the exception of China.
Created by cartoonist Jim Davis in 1978, the comic book Garfield tells the story of a cynical and lazy red cat and his relationship with his owner John Arbuckle and his friend, cute puppy Odie. The comic book has been adapted several times: from the late 1980s to the mid-1990s there was a cartoon series called Garfield and His Friends. In 2004, a full-length comedy Garfield was made in which the cat was voiced by Bill Murray. In 2006, his sequel, "Garfield 2: The Story of the Two Little Cats," came out. In 2007, audiences were able to appreciate the cartoon "The Real Garfield", which was followed by two sequels - "Garfield Festival" and "Garfield Space SWAT".
