Finland's Rovio will become the property of Japan's Sega
Japanese company Sega is acquiring almost 100 per cent stake in Finnish company Rovio, whose most famous product is the famous mobile game "Angry Birds".

According to an announcement on Sega's official website, "the 73,397,174 shares offered in the transaction represent approximately 96.3 per cent of all issued and outstanding securities of Rovio as of 16:00 on 7 August 2023." The contract is valued at more than $700 million. The deal will be handled by SEGA Europe Limited, the European division of SEGA.

Sega representatives have not yet commented on this acquisition, and also did not spread about plans for further exploitation of the game about the confrontation between "angry birds" and pigs.

What is the meaning of the game "Angry Birds"
Recall that the release of the original game took place in 2009. According to the story, the player had to launch birds of various calibres from a slingshot to knock down the structures on which there were pigs. The first episode was hugely popular, so sequels and themed spin-offs were later released.

Also the game "Angry Birds" became the basis for full-length cartoons, TV series and amusement parks.
