Sharon Stone will play a villain in the DC Comics adaptation
Sharon Stone is making her way to the DC universe. The famous actress has been confirmed for the role of a villain in the comic book adaptation of Blue Beetle. Stone, whose character Victoria Kord was created especially for the film, has previously taken part in comic book movies, having starred in the ill-fated 2004 film "Catwoman" starring Halle Berry.
In addition to Stone, Raul Trujillo ("The Mayans") has joined the project and will play Carapax the Indestructible. In the comics, the character is named Conrad Carapax and is an archaeologist whose mind fuses with the body of a robot.
The main role in the film, which Puerto Rican director Angel Manuel Soto will direct from a script by Gareth Dunnett-Alcocera, is played by Holo Maridueño, known from the Cobra Kai series. Maridueño's character, teenager Jamie Reyes, gains superpowers when he finds alien armor. "Blue Beetle" will be the first DC Comics movie to feature a Latino hero. Warner Bros. plans to release the film theatrically on August 18, 2023.
Stone will appear in the second season of the series "Flight Attendant," which debuts April 21, 2022, on HBO Max.
