The director of the drama "The Power of the Dog" has won Oscar 2022
In Los Angeles, the winner of the Best Director Oscar 2022 has been named. As expected, the gold statuette went to Jane Campion, who directed the dramatic western titled "The Power of the Dog."
Her competitors in this category were Steven Spielberg's "West Side Story," Paul Thomas Anderson's "Licorice Pizza," Kenneth Branagh's "Belfast" and Ryusuke Hamaguchi's "Drive My Car."
This is Jane Campion's second directorial Oscar nomination and second gold statuette. She previously claimed the American Academy Award in 1994 for "The Piano."
Earlier this year Campion was also honored by other professional associations, including the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Golden Globe 2022 and the British Academy Film Awards.
