Episodes of the fifth season of the sci-fi series "Very Stranger Things" will be shorter than the fourth season, the final two episodes of which aired on Netflix streaming on July 1, 2022. That information was shared by the show's creators and showrunners, brothers Ross Duffer and Matt Duffer, while taking part in the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast.
The only reason the episodes are so long in season four is because it takes almost two hours before our kids are really drawn into a supernatural mystery. You have to get to know them better, you get to see what's going on in their lives, how they're coping with adjusting in high school, and so on. Steve is trying to find a date, sort of. Obviously, none of that will happen in season five," said Matt Duffer, explaining the unusually long timeline of season four episodes. - Nevertheless, expect the series finale to be as long as a feature film. According to Duffers, in season five, the characters will pick up where they left off. "The characters will already be ready to act, they'll already have purpose and drive, and I think the new season will be special," Matt Duffer continued. - "I'm sure the finale will be much longer, it will be 'Return of the King' style with about eight endings."
