The Hobbit star to star in erotic thriller
Richard Armitage, the star of the "Hobbit" trilogy, has landed the lead male role in the erotic thriller "Damage" on Netflix. The actor announced about it on his Twitter page, accompanying the post with a photo with colleagues on the project, including Indira Varma, Charlie Murphy and Rish Shah.
Consisting of three episodes, the British mini-series is based on the novel by Josephine Hart and tells the story of a love triangle whose participants are obsessed with overpowering passion, fixated on forbidden desires and making dangerous decisions. As in most cases, the outcome of a relationship based on obsession is clear, and it's only a matter of time before it all comes crashing down.
In 1992, the drama "Damage" was released, starring Jeremy Irons, Juliette Binoche and Miranda Richardson. Richardson was nominated for Oscars and Golden Globes and received a BAFTA award, while Binoche received a Cesar nomination.
Armitage recently starred in the detective series "The Past Won't Let Go." Varma, known for "Game of Thrones," will appear in one of the leading roles in "Obi-Wan Kenobi" and "Mission Impossible 7." Murphy has starred in "Halo," and Shah is busy in the upcoming "Miss Marvel" series.
A premiere date for "Damage" will be announced at a later date.
