"The Power of the Dog" has set a new record for Netflix in the number of awards
A new record has been added to Netflix's piggy bank after the winners of the North Dakota Film Critics Association Awards were announced. The drama "The Power of the Dog" starring Benedict Cumberbatch took the top prize, thus picking up its 21st award this season. The previous record belonged to Alfonso Cuarón's project "Roma," released in 2018.
With the Oscars still just around the corner, the film has a chance to strengthen its position more firmly.
True, what's good for critics isn't always in favor with the Film Academy. Thus, in recent years, the main statuette has always received the box office releases and not their streaming competitors with a large number of nominations.
Nevertheless, one can still be happy for the recognition of Jane Campion's drama.
