The sci-fi action film "Prey," a prequel to the "Predator" franchise films, has set a record on Hulu, according to 20th Century Studios executives. Debuting on streaming on Friday, August 5, 2022, "Prey" became the highest-rated project among original feature projects and series ever released on Hulu in three days of streaming. The film's premiere also set viewing records on Star+ services in Latin America and Disney+ in all other territories based on the number of hours counted in the first three days of release. Specific audience statistics were not disclosed.
Dakota Beavers is starring in the fifth film in the series, along with Stormy Kipp, Julian Black Antelope and Dane Dilego. Dan Tractenberg directed the sharp suspense thriller from a screenplay by Patrick Eason.
The picture received high marks from Western film critics, with a 92 percent rating among critics as of August 7, displacing 1987's "Predator" with Arnold Schwarzenegger from its pedestal.
