The second season of the series "House of the Dragon" will break the record of "Game of Thrones"
The series "House of the Dragon" has every chance to "improve" the achievement of the original show "Game of Thrones" in terms of the gap between the premiere seasons.
The wait for the sequel's release may be even longer than anticipated. An update from HBO program director Casey Bloys hints that the second season of "House of the Dragon" won't come out until the summer of 2024 at the earliest, and if such a scenario materializes, it would be the most significant gap between any two seasons of the "Game of Thrones" series.
Currently, the "record" is just under 20 months, between seasons 7 and 8 of "Game of Thrones," but depending on when season 2 of "House of the Dragon" debuts, it could surpass that result. If HBO chooses August 2024, there will be about 22 months between the two seasons of "House of the Dragon."
Game of Thrones has shown impressive consistency in premiere dates for six seasons, with each one coming out in March or April of each year. This began to change with Season 7, which began in the summer of 2017, before a much longer hiatus in the case of Game of Thrones Season 8, which was released in April but in 2019.
They had fewer episodes, but proved to be much bigger in terms of battles and CGI (not least because of more frequent dragon demonstrations).
What is the Dragon House series about?
The action takes place well before the events of "Game of Thrones." The Targaryens, who have asserted their power over Westeros, are engaged in a battle for the right to inherit the Iron Throne, which could escalate into a full-scale civil war.
