The villain in "Guardians of the Galaxy. The Supreme Evolutionary has a connection to many of the characters in James Gunn's upcoming comic book movie. The performer of the role of the new antagonist, Chakwudi Iwujii, revealed this at the San Diego Comic-Con 2022 festival, also revealing some details about his character.
Supreme Evolutionary, which has been around forever, is actually related to a hell of a lot of the characters in this movie. I've heard a lot of talk about it being about Rocket specifically, but he's actually connected to a lot of people. Let's just say that he affects a lot of people's lives in a not-so-nice way," said Iwuji, who also played one of the key roles in Gunn's "Peacemaker" series, in particular.
First appearing in Marvel Comics in 1966, the Supreme Evolutionary has contributed to the backstory of many characters over the years, including Scarlet Witch, Mercury, Thor and the Black Knight. Previously, the Supreme Evolutionary was known as Herbert Wyndham, a brilliant biologist who was passionate about the study of evolution and genetic change. He built a fortress on Mount Vandagor in Transia, where he put his research into practice, experimenting on native animals, turning some of them into talking humanoids known as "New Men.
