The thriller "The Tourist" will have a second season
The British BBC channel has renewed for the next seasons its four rated series, including "The Tourist," "Night Calls," "Duty" and "Term."
The thriller "The Tourist," starring Jamie Dornan and Shalom Brun-Franklin, is by far the highest-rated drama of 2022. The series began with an audience of 12 million viewers, and all six episodes were the highest-rated on BBC iPlayer this January.
The second highest-rated new drama of 2022 to date is the crime thriller "Night Calls," starring Martin Freeman. The series has been watched by about 10 million viewers in 30 days. The action in the second season, as in the first, will unfold in Liverpool. There will be shooting.
The 2021 Scottish submarine detective "Duty," starring Suranne Jones, became the most popular new drama in the U.K. since "The Bodyguard" in 2018. More than 13 million viewers watched the first episode in 30 days, and the series averages an audience of 12.6 million. The second season will also be set in Scotland.
The prison drama Term, starring Sean Bean and Stephen Graham, was one of the most successful new dramas of 2021, garnering nearly 12 million total viewers in 30 days. The second season will feature a new cast and the action will take place in a women's prison.
