Tom Hiddleston to play in Apple TV series
The performer of the role of Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tom Hiddleston, will play the title role in an Apple mini-series called "White Darkness." It will be based on David Grann's popular science book of the same name, inspired by the true life story of Henry Worsley, a devoted husband and father, former soldier, man of honor and sacrifice, but also a man deeply obsessed with adventure, manifested in an epic journey across Antarctica on foot.
Soo Hugh, who previously helmed Apple's other series, "Patinko," will serve as writer, executive producer and co-showrunner on "White Darkness." Mark Heyman has also been named executive producer.
Note that this will be the second streaming Apple project that Hiddleston intends to star in. Previously, he played one of the leading roles in the series "Essex Snake," in which he starred alongside "Homeland" star Claire Danes. It will premiere in May 2022. The actor is also preparing for the second season of "Loki."
Recall that Tom Hiddleston received an Emmy Award nomination for his starring role in the mini-series "The Night Manager," presented to viewers in 2016.
