The movie "Top Gun: Maverick" continues to record impressive achievements. One of the latest was the box office receipts in its home country, North America, which exceeded $600 million.
In this way, "Top Gun: Maverick" was able to overtake James Cameron's "Titanic," once the most successful film project in history, in U.S. cinemas. It also became Paramount Studios' highest-grossing film in this market.
'Top Gun: Maverick' is a phenomenal film, and we are extremely proud to celebrate this amazing achievement with Tom Cruise, our directors and actors, our marketing and distribution teams and, of course, all the new and old Top Gun fans, without whom this would not have been possible," commented Brian Robbins, president and CEO of Paramount Pictures.
Previously, the second series of the popular 80's action movie, was the most successful film of the career of the lead actor Tom Cruise. Its cumulative collections exceeded 1.1 billion dollars. Participants in the project has already begun to discuss the options for creating a continuation.
Recall that the film "Titanic" can return to the leadership, after it will be re-issued in theaters in honor of the 25-year anniversary. It will happen in February 2023. "Titanic" will be presented to viewers in the most modern formats.
