The new installment of Taylor Sheridan's "Yellowstone" TV franchise, "Yellowstone: 1923," starring Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford, has set a new benchmark for both the creator of the popular universe and Paramount+. "Yellowstone: 1923," released this past weekend, Dec. 18, 2022, was estimated by streaming to be the most popular premiere on Paramount+ in the United States. Remarkably, the western surpassed the previous record by nearly 80 percent. It eclipsed such Paramount+ debuts as "Halo" and other Sheridan-produced series like "Yellowstone: 1883," "The Mayor of Kingstown" and "King of Tulsa."
Overall, "Yellowstone: 1923" premiered Dec. 18 to 7.4 million viewers on Paramount+ and other Paramount Network television platforms.

The limited-episode series produced by MTV Entertainment, 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions introduces fans of the TV franchise to a new generation of Duttons, led by patriarch Jacob (Harrison Ford) and matriarch Kara (Helen Mirren). The show will tell the story of the early twentieth century, when pandemics, a historic drought and the end of Prohibition hit the Mountain West and test the Duttons, who call it home, to their strengths.
