Yellowstone prequel series with Harrison Ford premiere date announced
A premiere date has been announced for Taylor Sheridan's ambitious television project Yellowstone: 1923. The prequel to the popular "Yellowstone" series will debut Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, exclusively on Paramount+ in the United States and Canada.
The next installment in the Sheridan-created franchise features a new generation of the Dutton clan. The limited-episode series will depict the early twentieth century when pandemics, a historic drought, the end of Prohibition and the Great Depression hit the Mountain West and the Duttons who call it home.
The cast is led by Harrison Ford as Jacob Dutton and Helen Mirren as Kara Dutton. Lead actors include James Badge Dale, Brian Geraty, Darren Mann, Robert Patrick, Sebastian Roche, Brandon Sklenar, Jerome Flynn, Marley Shelton and other actors.
According to unconfirmed official information, management at 101 Studios and MTV Entertainment Studios intend to order production on a second season of "Yellowstone: 1923" if negotiations with the cast are successful.

The Dutton family saga began with "Yellowstone," led by Kevin Costner as John Dutton. The fifth season will premiere on November 13, 2022. The plot centers on the uneasy relationships within the family of the owners of Montana's largest ranch, the Duttons, amid dramatic events unfolding in the areas bordering their property. "Yellowstone: 1923" is the latest installment in the franchise so far, in addition to the original show and "Yellowstone: 1883."
